Amanda and PJ planned the quintessential East Coast summer wedding at the waterside wedding venue Whitehall in Annapolis, Maryland. From the night before the wedding with their traditional Korean ceremony to the very last dance on their wedding night, every moment was filled with love. The whimsical decor of the tent and floral-filled ceremony were the perfect complement to the waterside venue, and the whole day was sprinkled with special details, like a shot of traditional Korean Soju for the wedding guests. Amanda was dressed in a classic Monique Lhullier wedding gown from Carine’s Bridal in D.C. for the ceremony, and as the celebration shifted to the reception, she changed into a chic feather dress from Cult Gaia.

Keep scrolling for a few of our favorite moments from this incredible wedding day!

From the bride:

How did you two meet?

We met in law school — we were both assigned to the same section and had all the same classes together. After the first few weeks of school, it was clear we had an interest in each other. What started as library study sessions soon blossomed into a relationship that would endure 3 years of school, survive 2 years of long distance between Philly to Baltimore, and support us through our first jobs as legal practitioners. The pandemic finally forced us to slow down and focus on us, which lead to PJ making the move to Baltimore so that we could begin making our lives one. 10 months later, we were happily engaged and unbelievably excited and ready to embark on the next chapter of our lives!

What was your initial vision for your wedding day?

My vision was a whimsical yet chic spring affair. I really wanted to lean into the fact that the wedding was in early spring (hence the colorful florals) and the venue itself was right on the Chesapeake bay (cue the rattan chandeliers).

What made you choose your wedding venue?

I loved the flow of the property. You’re welcomed by the sight of the old governor’s mansion, which really brings an element of sophistication & class. As you move through the mansion and look out onto the property, all you see are fields of green and the water. Water has always brought us a sense of calmness — something that I personally really felt as I walked down the aisle on our wedding day with the view of the water behind my husband! Additionally, the property is straddled on one side by an allay of trees, which I immediately knew would be the perfect spot for a whimsical cocktail hour.

Are there any images that stood out to you in your wedding gallery?

Of course we loved the bride & groom and wedding party portraits, especially the picture of us kissing as we walked out of the ceremony, but we loved all of the portraits of our families, closest friends & guests. PJ and I derive a lot of happiness not only from each other but also the people around us. Our wedding day wouldn’t have been what it was without everyone who came to celebrate us. The portraits of our guests really helped show the happiness that surrounded us that day.

Would you like to share anything about your wedding planning experience together? Is there any advice you’d love to give future couples about planning a wedding together?

Wedding planning can be extremely stressful — financially & emotionally. Don’t forget to take some time to enjoy being engaged and don’t lose sight of why you’re doing all of this to begin with, which is to ” marry the love of your life.
